Artists such as The Grateful dead, The Black Crowes, 311, AC/DC and many many more allow this, and most allow those recordings to be shared online. Additionally many indie artists would love for you to download their music for free. You have to be respectful of peoples work. Would you want your work stolen from you? It is estimated that the average teenagers ipod has over 800 illegal music tracks on them. many people think they are just stealing from the artist that “have so much money” anyway, but is the industry as a whole that suffers.
