It seems like the music world has another cool presidential family residing in the white house this year. Barack Obama may not play the saxophone like Bill Clinton, but

It’s also pleasant to know that his wife, Michelle Obama, finds importance on the arts as well. In fact, she is currently encouraging everyone to acknowledge the importance of music education.

In fact, according to the LA Times, Mrs. Obama will be hosting a special White House event for a special concert. The event will be a part of the Classical Music Student Workshop Concert, and will be held in the afternoon in the East Room celebrating a music series the first lady has created to ensure awareness.

Feature guest performers include the highly acclaimed following: Violinist Joshua Bell, guitarist Sharon Isbin, cellist Alisa Weilerstein and pianist Awadagin Pratt. There will also be a spotlight on two younger artists: Cellist Sujari Britt and marimba player Jason Yoder. The Obamas’ daughter’s Sasha and Malia also take piano lessons and dance classes to get their fill of classical music.

More concerts will hopefully be happening and Gustavo Dudamel has been mentioned as a future performer. For many children in this country music is not made available to them which is just as bad as having to take an acne treatment.

People may talk about doing it, but who is actually going to save the arts?
