6/17: Twenty-odd years after seeing her bestselling autobiography, “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” turned into an Oscar-winning film with Sissy Spacek, Loretta Lynn enjoyed a Grammy-winning comeback in 2004 with “Van Lear Rose.” The subject of near-universal acclaim, the album was produced by Jack White of the White Stripes. She’s apparently been working on a follow-up to be released before the year is out.

6/26: Guitar God Eric Clapton reunites with Blind Faith organist Steve Winwood for a U.S. tour. A Hall of Famer three times over (Yardbirds, Cream and solo), Clapton finished fourth on a list of the 100 Greatest Guitarist of All Time in Rolling Stone. Fellow Hall of Famer Winwood (in as a member of Traffic) is known for hits like “Higher Love” and “Roll With It.” Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

6/28: After earning his first 15 minutes of Internet fame with a single called “Bill Gates Must Die,” this analog obsessive set the blogosphere on fire with “Pixel Revolt,” an understated treasure of an album inspired, in part, by the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Two years later, he pulled in raves from Spin to Entertainment Weekly for “Emerald City,” named for the Green Zone in Baghdad. He’s here in support of this year’s model, “Romanian Names.”

6/30: It’s time for the yearly punk extravaganza, also known as punk-rock summer camp. 7/1: Bob Dylan once referred to Smokey Robinson as “America’s greatest living poet.” And Dylan would know. For his own group, the Miracles, Robinson wrote such Motown classics as “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me,” “Ooh Baby Baby,” “Shop Around,” “I Second That Emotion,” “The Tracks of My Tears” and “The Tears of a Clown.” But he also wrote enduring hits for other Motown artists, including such classics as “Ain’t That Peculiar,” “I’ll Be Doggone,” “My Girl” and “Get Ready.”

7/7: Unless she’s hunted down by Etta James, who famously threatened to whip the poor girl’s multiplatinum moneymaker for singing “At Last” at Obama’s big inauguration ball, Beyoncé will play US Airways Center in July. She arrives in support of last year’s double-platinum “I Am … Sasha Fierce,” which spawned the truly inescapable yet brilliant “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” and the edgier follow-up “Diva,” which rocked like an Auto-Tuned answer to Lil Wayne’s “A Milli.”

7/9: Performing at Jobing.com Arena are pop singer Demi Lovato and seventh season “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta. Lovato co-starred with the Jonas Brothers in one of the biggest Disney Channel movies ever, “Camp Rock,” and has her own hit series on the Disney Channel, “Sonny With A Chance.” The 16-year-old singer/actress opened for Jonas Brothers last year. Archuleta, whose breakthrough single “Crush” hit No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100, opens.

7/9: Prog-rock legends Yes are joined by ’80s prog supergroup Asia. Guitarist Steve Howe performs with both bands. In addition to Howe, Yes’ line-up is set to feature bassist Chris Squire, drummer Alan White, new singer Benoit David and keyboardist Oliver Wakeman (son of Rick). Asia’s lineup features Howe, the Buggles’ Geoff Downes (who was also a member of Yes in the ’80s), ELP’s Carl Palmer and King Crimson bassist John Wetton.

7/10: A product of the genre-mashing early ’90s, 311 topped the Modern Rock charts with their a song calle “Down” in 1996 and followed through with “All Mixed Up,” another Top 5 Modern Rock smash from that same self-titled triple-platinum breakthrough. They’ve been through their share of lean times since then, but it almost seems like every time you think you’ve heard the last of 311, there’s another comeback hit, including this year’s Top 5 Modern Rock smash, “Hey You.”

7/10: Michael McDonald got his start in Steely Dan and joined the Doobie Brothers on lead vocals for a lengthy run that spawned the Grammy-winning “What a Fool Believes.” His solo hits include “I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)” and “On My Own,” a chart-topping duet with Patti Labelle. Boz Scaggs is best remembered for the album “Silk Degrees,” which spawned the timeless singles “Lowdown,” “Lido Shuffle” and “It’s Over.”

7/11: Jenny Lewis started her professional career as a kid in a Jell-O commercial. But we’re pretty sure she’s better known for fronting indie darlings Rilo Kiley and launching a solo career in 2006 with an album called “Rabbit Fur Coat.” A second solo effort, “Acid Tongue,” drew raves from Entertainment Weekly, Alternative Press and Rolling Stone, to name a few.

7/14: Grammy-nominated piano-rock heroes The Fray went double platinum their first time out with “How to Save a Life,” which spawned two Top 10 hits — the title track and “Over My Head (Cable Car).” They’re touring on a second album, a self-titled effort that topped the charts and sent another smash, “You Found Me,” to the Top 10 on the Hot 100. Jacks Mannequin opens the show. Doors open at 6 p.m.

George Jones

7/15: Country legend George Jones stops in Phoenix to support his latest effort, “Burn Your Playhouse Down” a collection of previously unreleased duets between Jones and an illustrious group of guest stars. Recordings range from mid-’70s sessions with former wife Tammy Wynette to a track from 2007 with his daughter, Georgette, the only child from the union of George and Tammy. Doors open at 7 p.m.

7/25: The Unite the Mic Tour features rapper Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and Cypress Hill’s B-Real. They both have brand new albums out. Bizzy Bone’s is called “Back with the Thugz.” B-Real’s is “Smoke N’ Mirrors.”
